🩺 Key Responsibilities of the Health and Education Standing Committee

This Committee is responsible for the complete planning, supervision, and execution of the Panchayat's Health and Education sectors.

1. 🏥 Public Health and Medical Care

  • Disease Prevention: Planning preventative measures to curb infectious diseases. Conducting vaccination drives and health surveys in coordination with the Health Department.

  • Sanitation: Ensuring cleanliness in public places, waste management, and the sanitation of drinking water sources.

  • Health Institutions: Streamlining the functioning of Primary Health Centres (PHC), Sub-centres, and Dispensaries, and supervising their infrastructure development.

  • Environmental Health: Supervising the construction and maintenance of peripheral cleanliness, public toilets, and latrines.

2. 📚 Educational Development

  • Educational Schemes: Planning schemes to address educational backwardness and improve the quality of students' learning.

  • Educational Institutions: Coordinating activities to improve the physical facilities of schools and other educational institutions under the Panchayat.

  • Facilities: Overseeing the construction and renovation of school buildings and libraries.

3. 💪 Sports and Culture

  • Sports: Supervising sports training programmes, development of playgrounds, and the promotion of sporting activities.

  • Arts and Culture: Supporting the functioning of libraries and cultural institutions, and organizing cultural events.

4. 🤰 Other Allied Duties

  • Nutrition: Supporting programmes (either independently or in conjunction with the Welfare Standing Committee) that ensure necessary nutrition for infants and pregnant women.

In summary: This Standing Committee leads all the Panchayat's activities aimed at creating a healthy society and achieving educational upliftment.
