Haritha Keralam Mission Activities (Waste-Free Panchayats)

  • Haritha Karma Sena Activities: Collection, segregation, and transportation of non-biodegradable waste from households and institutions to waste management centers. This initiative has helped many Panchayats become waste-free.
  • Waste Management Units: Establishment of plastic shredding units and organic manure production units such as compost and biogas plants.
  • Green Protocol Implementation: Promoting eco-friendly practices during public functions and celebrations by reducing plastic waste and encouraging sustainable alternatives.

LIFE Mission Housing Projects

A housing project implemented with the objective of providing safe and secure homes for all. Panchayats take the initiative to construct houses for land-owning homeless families and provide flats for those without land.

Kudumbashree Mission Projects

  • Women Self-Help Groups: Micro-enterprises, financial assistance, and production units that empower women economically.
  • Janakeeya Hotels: Community kitchens providing affordable meals, supporting the vision of a hunger-free Kerala.
  • Agricultural Groups: Kudumbashree farming collectives promoting local agriculture and self-sufficiency.

Effective Implementation of MGNREGA (Employment Guarantee Scheme)

Providing 100 days of employment to unskilled rural workers through activities such as pond construction, canal cleaning, concrete and tiled road construction, agricultural support activities, kitchen shed and dining hall construction, work shed construction, and coir geo-textile laying. These activities contribute significantly to rural development.

Safe Drinking Water Projects

Ensuring access to clean drinking water for all households through well cleaning, installation of borewells, and public water supply systems. Various projects are also implemented to protect and conserve water resources.

Model Interventions in the Health Sector

  • Aardram Mission Activities: Upgrading Primary Health Centres into Family Health Centres to provide better treatment and preventive healthcare services.
  • Communicable Disease Control: Preventing diseases through mosquito eradication drives and sanitation activities.

Educational Development Initiatives

  • Establishment of libraries, distribution of learning aids, and provision of infrastructure facilities for schools.
  • Supply of newspapers and periodicals to recognized libraries and schools.
  • Swimming training programs for students.
  • Strengthening public education through digital learning facilities and smart classrooms.

Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Protection Projects

Projects including river and canal cleaning, mangrove plantation drives, and establishment of biodiversity parks to protect the environment and promote ecological sustainability.
